Kim:"I was invited to attend an audition with Syrach so I brought along my old guitar and met the band at their lair. I've been trying to learn their two latest albums so we'd have something to jam on. The evening, though, turned out ok, even though my performance wasn't the best. I found it difficult to solo on a 6-string as I am used to my 7-string. We played three songs from their new album. I've been struggeling to make a decision about joyning this band, and they are going to audition a couple of other guitarists as well, at least that's what they tell me, so we'll see what it comes too. Anyways, I had fun".
Kim: "Well, I got another invitation to jam with them, and a message of 'work on some solos'. Maybe my reputation of being a great guitar player preceded me and that made them invite me back, but what I presented at that first audition concerning solos was not good...it was actually bad. I'd brought along my old 6-string guitar, because 7-strings was not allowed, and I hadn't played on that for ages, it was very uncomfortable. There also might be the possibility that I were their only choise. I actually wanted to joind this band, but I had to turn it down because I was unable to conform to their immediate touring plans. A tour for three weeks going through Europe started in Poland on September 10th.".
As part of preparing for the audition I went to see them live at Hinsides on 31/7-09, I wanted to see what they were all about and to see what kind of following they have. So here they are at their release party for their third album A Dark Burial.
